Remembrancer’s Crusade Notes

Crusade is great but it sure as hell isn’t perfect. In order to make life a little bit easier, here’s a collection of fixes, notes and additions that we have made to smooth out some of the rougher parts of the rules.

Space Marines

Problem: Various space marine chapters have the ability to gain a second warlord trait via their supplements, however, there is currently no way to cleanly implement this.

Solution:

REQUISITIONS

CHAPTER EXEMPLAR 1RP

Astartes are all the end result of a hellish process to produce demi-god soldiers. However, even in such a brotherhood, some stars burn brighter than others.

Purchase this Requisition at any time. Select one <Chapter> Character model from your Order of Battle that has a warlord trait and is at least at the Bloodied rank. That model receives a second warlord trait from their chapter supplement. Increase that model’s Crusade points total by 1, and make a note on that unit’s Crusade card.

Problem: Everyone likes psychic dreads. The only PSYKER DREADNOUGHT is currently found in the Blood Angel Codex.

Solution: Any chapter not using the Blood Angel Supplement may use the following additional requisition when using the EVEN IN DEATH I STILL SERVE requisition.

REQUISITIONS

UNDYING GIFT 1RP

For most Librarians, being crippled to the point of Dreadnought interment would dull their gifts into a mere shadow of what they once were. However, there are some wills made of the most unyielding adamantium that retain their powers even after ‘death’.

When using the requisition EVEN IN DEATH I STILL SERVE and if the CHARACTER it is was a PSYKER you may use the Librarian Dreadnought datasheet from Codex Blood Angels. Replace the relevant faction keywords with the CHARACTER‘s keywords and increase the new Librarian Dreadnought‘s crusade points by 1.

Adeptus Custodes

Problem: Adeptus Custodes characters have the ability to gain a second warlord trait via a stratagem, however, there is currently no way to cleanly implement this.

Solution:

REQUISITIONS

Victor Of the Blood Games 1RP

What foe can withstand a warrior who has overcome the defences of Holy Terra itself?

Purchase this Requisition at any time. Select one Adeptus Custodes Character model from your Order of Battle that has a warlord trait and is at least at the Bloodied rank. That model receives a second warlord trait. Increase that model’s Crusade points total by 1, and make a note on that unit’s Crusade card.

Chaos Space Marines

Problem: Black Legion characters have the ability to gain a second warlord trait via a stratagem, however, there is currently no way to cleanly implement this.

Solution:

REQUISITIONS

Lord Of The Ezekarion 1RP

Abaddon’s chosen generals are known as the Ezekarion, and are the greatest war leaders of the Black Legion.

Purchase this Requisition at any time. Select one Black Legion Character model from your Order of Battle that has a warlord trait and is at least at the Bloodied rank. That model receives a second warlord trait from the Black Legion Warlord Traits list. Increase that model’s Crusade points total by 1, and make a note on that unit’s Crusade card.

Chaos Daemons

Problem: Summoning is weird.

Solution:

  • All summoned units are temporary and can never gain XP.
  • The maximum value of units summoned is equal to no more than 1/2 the standard battle size in PL. eg 50 PL game means no more than 25 PL summoned
  • Blue and Brimstone horror splitting is drawn from the available PL. – otherwise, summoning is as per the old codex (and current CSM codex)
  • This is done in 25, 50, 75, 100PL steps. Talk to your opponent and select the one that fits the battle size you are playing.

Rationale: This allows you to summon without effectively getting unlimited points or being completely hamstrung under the RAW rules for narrative/match play games. Effectively we have aimed for the middle here.

This rule is under test and will be withdrawn for review once the codex drops.
